Consistency: The secret sauce of successful Creators.

Have you ever wondered how your favourite creators manage to consistently deliver great content? Why is it that some individuals seem to effortlessly produce a constant stream of articles, videos, or podcasts while others struggle to even start? The truth is, creating content on a consistent basis requires more than just sheer motivation and dedication; it is a mindset rooted in discipline, adaptability, and passion. But… you can learn to incorporate it into your own workflow!

In a world overflowing with information and countless distractions, understanding the importance of consistency is crucial if you want to make a lasting impact. So, let's dive into why consistency matters and explore the mindset it takes to craft meaningful content day in and day out.

Building Trust and Authority

Regular content updates signal reliability to your audience. When they see consistent posts, they recognise your commitment, which fosters trust. It also encourages regular interactions. Your core audience will know when to expect something new and will be there in the first hours or days. The more your audience engages with your content, the more algorithms favor your posts, leading to higher visibility for a potential new audience.

Please note that consistency DOESN’T mean daily. There was a time when this was needed, when the algorithms we’re still learning and the platforms we’re still figuring out what metrics to look for. By now most steady platforms have matured and allow for a more spread uploading schedule. My recommendations are posting in between daily and one time a week. This allows you audience to keep you top of mind.

Also, regularly providing fresh and engaging content, particularly thoroughly researched and fact-based articles, establishes expertise within your industry. Over time, your audience will come to rely on you as a reliable and dependable source of valuable knowledge and insights.

Now you: How often do you currently post content, and how does that frequency align with your audience's expectations? What topics can you consistently cover to showcase your expertise?

Enhancing Brand Visibility

Like I said before: the more frequently you post, the higher the chances of your content being seen. Regular updates ensure that your brand remains top-of-mind for your audience. But that also goes for people who don’t follow you just yet. Since some of your audience members will interact, others who don’t know you yet will also see your content pass by.

It takes about 7 times for a brand or message to be seen by a group of people before they start recognising it. So the more active you are in one stretch, the more people will see this new guy, gall or person pop up on their feed. Besides that it’s also easier for other creators to take you serious and reach out for collaborations.

Now you: Are there gaps in your posting schedule that might be causing your brand to fade from your audience's memory?

Streamline your Workflow

One of the things you will notice after creating content on a regular basis is the sheer improvement in productivity you’ll have. Creativity is like a muscle and when you work out, you’ll notice some gains! You’ll identify some time consumers in your process and find ways to get things done quicker. Setting up becomes more efficient and you’ll start to develop a workflow that works FOR you, instead of against you. But, there is more!

Enter the content plan—a strategic roadmap that outlines what, when, and where you'll publish your content. It's not just about having a list of topics; by having a plan ready you can get ahead of a steady stream of relevant and engaging content. With a plan in place, you're not constantly scrambling for topics or rushing to meet deadlines. It will free up a lot of mental load and you’ll start to enjoy the process (even) more!

Now you: How often do you find yourself stressed due to last-minute content creation? Are there steps you can take to get ahead of the process?
